Fishing at Quartz Lake, Alaska
Quartz Lake is best known for for it's sport fishing. The Quartz Lake Recreation Area provides multiple boat ramps and a fishing dock. There are also great fishing spots along the rocky shoreline. More than 34,000 fish are harvested for the lake each year.
Fish species found in the lake include Rainbow Trout, Arctic Char, Coho Salmon and Chinook Salmon. The lake is stocked yearly with Rainbow Trout and Coho Salmon. It is also stocked every two years with Chinook Salmon and Arctic Char. Most anglers on Quartz Lake would advise using a small boat, canoe or float-tube if fishing. There is also a boat rental stand inside of the park. Fishing is open throughout the year. During the winter, ice fishing is a mojor attraction to the lake.
